BLACKHAT WORLD: No Blackhat Secrets at Blackhat World

Wikipedia describes search engine optimization (SEO) as the process of improving the volume or superiority of traffic to a web site from search engines via "natural" or un-paid ("organic" or "algorithmic") search results as opposed to search engine marketing (SEM) which deals with paid inclusion. Take note of the phrase "paid inclusion." What they are referring to is "purchasing links." Now this is a novel comment. If you get Google ads for your website is that not a "paid inclusion?" If you pay to be in the Yahoo directory is that a "paid inclusion?" Google is similar to a mom and dad informing their youngster don't do what I do, do as I say!

It has been understood that Blackhat SEO is mutually a fabrication and a reality. Anyone doing SEO will will likely deal with this method at some time. Not to face the Blackhat SEO system is to exist in denial. The BH procedures of today are the grey and white hat techniques of tomorrow. It's an essential truth; innovations regularly happen within the Blackhat community of SEOs. These methods are considered, adapted, and finally adopted into white hat SEO. The thing about the BLACKHAT WORLD is that these members are pioneering and forward thinking.

It has been alleged frequently that you should be acquainted with with SEO to be familiar with how Google's algorithm can be compromised. This is a good thing for many reasons although for most it is principal for two reasons:

1. You can get a reliable understanding of your competition and how they obtain the "edge" on Google.
2. You dig up information and techniques you can make use of to advance in the Google search engine.

We are all aware that information is power. What allot of people do not appreciate is that the majority of Black Hat proceedures are not Blackhat at all! Blackhat is like a double edged sword.

A number of people have argued that Blackhat SEO is for the feeble. They go to say Black Hatters are individuals you can't win the game and have to resolve to dishonesty. In my opinion, even if you don't want to use what some call Black Hat SEO to advance your website it is good practice know your competition and what they are doing. That's only common sense.

Various White Hat purists go as far as claiming that purchasing aged domains that are expired is Blackhat SEO. In a respectable business model purchasing old domains and reviving them makes perfect sense. The age of the domain is influential in Google's algorithm so you have a head start on your competition. And what is the distinction if I want to sell my domain to somebody? Going further, is Microsoft's Bing doing Blackhat by buying data and content from Yahoo? All this begs the question; who makes the rules on the internet?

Fake news reports are often seen as blackhat. From a marketing strategy they are seen as brilliant. This technique is done everyday by the media but it is never referred to as Blackhat! Really, people throw around the term Blackhat SEO so much it has little meaning.

The BLACKHAT WORLD of SEO is so much more than hacking, rogue bots, keyword stuffing and so on. In reality, hacking is not actually seen as Blackhat by the Blackhat World. The Blackhat World SEO is principally centered on methods to advance a website or how to make money online.

Google and Whitehat SEO people would have you believe that automating software to assist you in posting in your blogs for example, is Blackhat. They are not in favor of any automated software devoted towards SEO. Granted allot of software and scripts in the BLACKHAT WORLD has been made to exploit Google. However you just can't paint the Blackhat World SEO with a broad brush. There are tons of techniques you can employ that can assist your website ranking well in Google that are not from the Dark Side of the Blackhat World.

If you go to any website that offers freelancing you will find allot of Black Hat people from all over the world. They offer to submit your website to thousands of websites for pennies. They tell you that all of these submissions are done by hand. You have to read between the lines with claims similar to this.

First, if you are foolish enough to fall for this, a thousand back links to your website will hoist a gigantic red flag for Google if it is completed in a brief period of time. Secondly, your website will climb in the SERPs however you will fall hard coming down in a very brief time. And, when you take a good peek at your links and you will discover they are from a paid directory and your anchor text is non existent. This is the kind of practice I dub Black Hat.

On the other hand, if you find a honest person to do this, who took time to acquire quality back links for you and did this over a month, then I would call it White Hat. The purpose is use programmed SEO software with restraint so your results give the impression of being organic or naturally produced. Don't get greedy or foolish.

Here is one final example of automating software for twitter for scheduling and repeating tweets. Automatically tweeting RSS feeds from yours or other blogs is all right as long as the Twitter account has a real person attending it who tweets manually, as well. Again, moderation is the key to making it look organic and natural.

Here is a assertion by White Hat people who have oodles of money for Google ads and have no idea of the heavy competition on the internet nowadays. "If your content is worth a damn you won't need to trick readers or bots with fake substance. I invested time into the content and usability of my site and it's returned a 350% jump in my traffic last year. I'm getting links you can't begin to fake or even buy. Make sites for people, not search engines."

This is great stuff for your "arm chair philosopher." Fact is that you are competing alongside many Blackhat SEO savvy people who can have their site indexed in 3 days and have a position on the first page on the 4 days! And the odd thing is they are not using Blackhat SEO to do this! If you want to compete these days on the internet and you want to be visible, you need to know the cutting edge of SEO. You need to understand what hottest and unique ways the BLACKHAT WORLD is doing with their
SEO.

Now to set the record staright, here are some of the Black Hat SEO tactics along with other top Google searches used these days:

  13. Here is a comment left on my WEB site http://consultant.rmtrain.com that redirects the reader back to this WEB site.

    "EUNICE HANCOCK Says:

What is a capta code? Can anyone provide me plug in for this one. Thanks in advance"

The question can easily be resolved by a Google search of capta code which suggest it is not a valid question. Where I do not currently use capta on the WEB where this question was posted, but do discuss SEO and SEM, it seems too trival to be valid, especailly after researching the backlink.

This is one of thoes border line Blackhat/Whitehat activities that may gain short term traffic, but may also register the source as a questionable one. Where we all want great WEB traffic and we all hate those that use less savory tactics are we creating a better WEB community or one that is even more corrupt? Are we creating a reputation we are proud of or one that is seen as less than savory. Marketing is a slippery slope. Marketeers are sometimes percieved as tricky, not to be trusted. It is a reputation gained by those that shaded the line between what is appropriate and what is in-appropriate.

Questions like the one posed are often deleted, good WEB sites read the comments and filter out the ones that seem unrelated or appear unreasonable. I left this comment posted for my readers as an example of how not to market your WEB site; if you want to build and sustain a long healthy relationship with your clients or readers. Black hat, White hat or Gray hat, what you do on the internet is there for all to see. What image are you creating for your business/WEB site?

Old fashioned as it seems, I will continue wearing my battered old White hat. It may be out of style, but my clients seem more comfortable when they see it.

Most of my own WEB sites are for business and do not derive clients from WEB traffic. WEB sites are the new brick and mortar and their quality and sophistication are the new guage for a business's solidity and credibility.

Here is a WEB site that is pure POP and appeal where I demonstrate the potental of WEB design, it is not intended for heavy traffic, but to show off what is possible during a nation wide on-line presentation with audio conference circuts and on-line remotely controlled presentations.
